What is the Existentialist Society? The Australasian Existential Society organises forums on existential issues and the practice of existential counselling and psychotherapy.
Forum topics may be theoretical or applied to the practice of therapy, or a combination of both. We generally hold four forums per year. We generally hold four forums per year.
What do we do? The AES was formed in 1999 as a professional interest group, primarily for counsellors and psychotherapists working within an existential-phenomenological theoretical framework. However, we very much welcome input and interest from others in the "E-P" field and from everyone working in the helping professions, whether your main theoretical interest is CBT or psychoanalysis.
While our principal aim is to provide professional development, we also hope that everyone who attends can find a place to explore existential ideas and how to apply them to everyday life.
